Volunteers play a valuable role at Sheffield Place by helping staff provide services that benefit our families. As a Sheffield Place volunteer you will have diverse opportunities ranging from working with the children in Project HOPE, preparing a living unit for a new family, or staffing a special event. We depend on our volunteers because they allow us to do more for our families.

Here are just a few of the volunteer opportunities at Sheffield Place.

Project HOPE Group Aide - Help Project HOPE staff implement group activities for children ages 5-12.

Tutor - Help adults or children with homework and other educational needs.

Project HOPE Babysitter - Help staff watch babies and infants while adult and children's groups are occurring.

Field Trip Tour Guide - Work with Project HOPE staff to supervise children on field trips.

Field Trip Sponsor - Work with Project HOPE staff to sponsor, plan and attend a Project HOPE educational field trip.

Community Meal Provider - Prepare a meal for the mothers and their children to enjoy during weekly program planning meetings.

Light Maintenance Person - Help the Administrative Assistant maintain minor facility needs including but not limited to changing light bulbs, hanging pictures, painting, and other minor repairs.

Holiday Store Elf - Organize a holiday gift drive to contribute to the Holiday Store, assist staff in organize and working in the store, and /. Or transport donation items from community partners.

Office Helper - Help the Administrative Assistant with copies, computer input, and other general office duties.

Baker - Make and transport baked goods for special events, birthday parties, etc.

Special Project Sponsor - Organize and implement a special project drive to support the operations of Sheffield Place. Examples include linens, cleaning supplies, new toys, school supplies, and much more.
