Board of Directors

A volunteer Board of Directors governs Sheffield Place. As a general rule of thumb, the Sheffield Place Board of Directors primarily governs and staff manages. Except for a few unique functions of the Board, staff performs almost all organizational activities. The Board of Directors employs the Executive Director to whom it delegates responsibility for the day-to-day management of the organization and its resources. The Executive Director enables the Board to avoid the intricacies and short-term focus of staff and program management, and work exclusively on the long-term focus of governance and strategic planning.

The Sheffield Place Board of Directors meets on the 4th Monday of each month. Committee meetings are held monthly. Each committee is responsible for assigned tasks that support the agency's mission, uphold the Board's responsibilities, and drive the agency's strategic plan. The Board of Directors welcomes public participation in its committee activities.
